Message from Condell regarding fluids please read
Good afternoon,
With the ongoing IV Fluid shortage, the hospital continues to mitigate the impact on our patients and community.
Starting today, 10/21, per our hospital pharmacy, we will be replacing your empty/used 1000ml NS bags with 2 500ml NS bags. We are still trying to conserve as many liter bags as possible, and we are not experiencing a shortage with the smaller bags. Please utilize the 500ml bags in the event that you need to use IV fluids on your patients. This will hopefully allow for less wasted fluids during transport. Please continue to utilize all other IV fluid conservation strategies outlined in previous emails.
