They have started to utilize room 25 as a “behavioral health intake room.” They will be using this room to start care on all behavioral health patients transported to us, unless that room is already occupied or there are multiple BH patients presenting. They will page “Dr. Stewart” to the designated location overhead to assemble an intake team. Public Safety will still plan to meet EMS personnel in the ambulance bay for initial weapons detection/wanding/assistance, and then the patient will be brought directly to room 25. If that room is occupied, or once the intake process is completed, they will move and cohort all BH patients in the 50s.

Please remember to make sure the ED is notified of any behavioral health complaints, as well as ETOH/drug use, combative/aggressive behavior, etc. when you call in on the radio, so they can place these patients appropriately.
