Career Center Spark Your Career in Emergency Response at Antioch Fire Department A career in firefighting flourishes at Antioch. The District regularly recruits new firefighters for crews at our three fire stations. Antioch is an all-hazards department and firefighters on our crews must hold a firefighter certification and EMT license through the state of Illinois. Applicants can receive certification when they are hired. New crew members begin their careers at Antioch as part-time firefighters, and the District promotes full-time crew members from its part-time roster. While the Department helps qualified applicants receive necessary certifications, Antioch requires the following: Be at least 18 years old A High school diploma (or equivalent) Completion of a physical assessment test Applicants who are selected for employment also must pass a drug screening test, a medical physical, and a background check.
